Mark Kitching Joins Rochdale On Loan

27 January 2017

Rochdale Football Club are delighted to announce the arrival of defender Mark Kitching from Middlesbrough.

He has joined the club on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who is a graduate of the Boro Academy, signed his first professional contract at the Premier League side in 2014, and has since been included in Aitor Karanka’s matchday squad. He also spent time out on loan at York City.

Kitching is a left-back but can also operate in midfield.

Manager Keith Hill commented: “I believe he will make us stronger. He’s a good player, he meets our DNA and I think once he warms up with respect to meeting the demands of the team and the environment, then I’m sure that we’ve got a very good young player coming in. I’m looking forward to working with him.

“He played for us in a behind closed doors game on Tuesday and I was really impressed with him.”

Mark will wear squad number 32 during his time at the club.

Welcome to the club!
