Hopefully More Goals Will Follow - Steven Davies

29 September 2016

Steven Davies has told Dale PlayerHD that he’s enjoying his time at the Crown Oil Arena.

The forward joined Rochdale last month and he says he has settled in well.

"Coming in late [after the season had started] and not getting a pre-season with the rest of the lads makes it hard to catch up, but the Gaffer has been kind enough to bring me in and if he keeps giving me game time then hopefully more goals will follow," said Davies.

“We have a great set of lads here and they’re hard working and honest. When you’re coming into work every day and you’ve got lads who want to give everything for the cause then it makes it so enjoyable.”

Davies, who netted his second goal for the club in Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers, reckons the side showed a great deal of character to claim the victory.

“If you look at the last three or four games, then I think we’re starting to look very strong. We’re working very hard and it just shows the resilience and the team spirit that we’ve got. Bolton are a good team and they’ve got a lot of players who have played at a very good level, so to hold out for the win showed a lot of character.”

Tuesday’s victory was Dale’s third win on the bounce but Davies says the players are staying grounded because there is still hard work to be done.

“We try to stay as humble as possible. It’s a massive three points on the back of the previous two wins but there’s still a lot of hard work to be done because we’re only ten ten games into the season.”
