U18s Through To Semi-Finals Of Youth Alliance Cup

Rochdale’s under 18 side booked their place in the semi-finals of the Youth Alliance Cup on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Burnley.


David Owusu opened the scoring after just eight minutes at the Barnfield Training Centre, but the Clarets levelled shortly after the half hour mark.

Neil Kuemo won the tie for Dale with four minutes remaining.

Rochdale were without key players for the tie, with Aaron Morley, Matthew Gillam and Andrew Hollins called-up to the first team for their trip to Bradford City. Three under 16s and and an under 15 were named on the bench. 

Dale are back in action on Wednesday evening when they face Shrewsbury Town in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

The match at the Crown Oil Area kicks-off at 7pm. The Main Stand is open for supporters – Adults £4, Juniors £2. 

Rochale XI v Burnley: Wade, Chea, Ward, Kearney, Appiah, White, Prescott, Murray, Owusu, Piggott, Kuemo. Subs: Adshead (U15), Bradley (U16), Dickin (U16), Hoti (U16).
