A statement from Chris Dunphy and the Board of Directors on behalf of Rochdale Football Club…

Chairman Chris Dunphy and the Board of Directors have been left deeply saddened by the regrettable set of events which occurred at the end of Saturday’s League 1 fixture v AFC Wimbledon.

On behalf of the club, Mr Dunphy and the Board would like to apologise wholeheartedly to supporters for the unacceptable behaviour from within the Directors Area.

We regard this is a serious matter and a meeting has already taken place with the Director in question, who has apologised unreservedly for his actions. Emotions and passions run high in football, with comments made in the heat of moment, but he accepts there can be no excuses for what unfolded on Saturday.

We are stronger together and have achieved our past successes whilst united. We are TEAM ROCHDALE, and now more than ever, it’s vital we all come together as one.

Rochdale Football Club values its supporters and Dale’s new Chief Executive, Russ Green, has offered to meet with any fan involved in the incident. Please email russ.green@rochdaleafc.co.uk if you’d like to meet with Russ to discuss the matter in a relaxed environment.
