A Top Team Performance - Conrad Logan

5 December 2016

Conrad Logan believes the players put in “a top team performance” in Saturday’s FA Cup win over Carlisle United.

Manager Keith Hill praised his side for their professionalism in the 2-0 victory over the League Two league leaders and Logan believes every player gave their all to secure a result.

“It was a top team performance,” he told Dale PlayerHD.

“Coming here to face a team that is doing well in League Two was always going to be a tough, especially when their home form has been exceptional.

“To a man, I thought everyone stood up and was counted. It was a fantastic team performance.”

The win booked Rochdale’s place in the third round of the competition and Logan says the players are looking forward to the draw.

“It’s great to be in third round. The club can make a bit of money and it gives us, as a League One player, the opportunity to maybe play against a top Premier League team.

“We’re looking forward to the draw. We’re in the hat and we’ll go and hopefully do ourselves justice against whoever we draw.”

Premier League and Championship teams enter the competition at this stage but Logan says landing a tie against one those sides isn’t the be all and all.

“If it’s a Premier League club at a big stadium then that’s what you want, but listen, if we get a so-called smaller team then that’s great too. You want to go as far as you can in the competition so it’s not the be all and end all.

“Personally, I’d rather get a so-called smaller team, get into the next round and then worry about a bigger team after having a good cup run. You can’t affect what happens in the draw, so whoever it is we’ll go and enjoy it.”
